The Wildfire Resiliency and Training Summit acknowledges with gratitude that the event is taking place on the traditional and unceded territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Songhees Nation and Xwsepsum Nation.



Participant Funding Program


If you are interested in participating in the 2026 Wildfire Resiliency and Training Summit but need financial assistance, you may be eligible for funding support through the WRTS Participant Funding Program.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 

Applicants must: 

*Community members can still apply even if their Local Government or First Nation is involved in either CRI or ISC funding. 

  • be involved in activities related to community wildfire resiliency.
  • fall into one of these categories:
    • Post-Secondary Students
    • First Nations
    • Firefighters
    • Emergency Management Personnel
    • Local Government Staff
    • Non-Profit Organizations
    • Local FireSmart Representatives
    • Wildfire Mitigation Specialists
    • Wildfire Management Personnel
    • WUI specialist (RPFs, RFTs, consultants, contractors and other land specialists)
    • Vineyards & Agricultural Businesses
    • Landscape Management Agencies
    • Forestry Management Companies
    • Construction & Building Companies
    • Utility Companies: Water & Electrical


HOW TO APPLY 

If the Applicant meets all the above requirements, please fill out the Funding Application Form via the button below. 

Deadline to apply: February 13, 2026 at 4:00 PM (Pacific Time)

REVIEW PROCESS 

The Organizing Committee will review each application and will notify applicants by February 27, 2026. All applicants will receive written notice of funding decisions via email. 

Each eligible applicant will receive: 

  • One complimentary registration for the conference portion of the Summit (April 8-10).
  • One $1,500 cheque (provided onsite upon check-in).

Please note that, once approved, this funding is non-transferable
